The "tratturi", sheep-tracks, were the ancient 'grassy paths', along which the flocks with dogs moved from the mountains of Abruzzi towards the other pastures of the Apulian plains (in Apulia hibernabant, in Marsicis montibus aestivabant - M.T. Varro 100 a.C.).
Just along one of the three main sheep-tracks, the "Celano-Foggia",
our dogs live; more exactly, in the area contained among the villages Celano,
Ovindoli and Avezzano.
